Whipped Cream Frosting

Ever since I started baking, I started making my own whipped cream. It is very easy and you can dip fruit in it, put it on Jello, on your ice cream or add some sour cream and cream your cake with it. It is so much lighter and richer than a regular icing. Next time you make cake, make this cream and frost your cake with it. I promise you will love it. If you want to make regular whipped cream follow these steps, just omit the sour cream. (Also, sorry no pics but I make this often so I promise to upload some next time.)

Whipped Cream

You need:
*1 cup heavy cream
*1 cup sour cream
*1/2 cup confectioners sugar
*1 tsp. vanilla extract

1. Pour the heavy cream into a large COLD metal bowl (you can put your bowl into the refrigerator for a few minutes before making the cream) and mix on medium speed until it starts to thicken.

2. Add the 1/2 cup of sugar and keep mixing until you obtain soft peaks.

3. Add the vanilla and the sour cream and whip about another minute or until stiff peaks form.

4. You can now frost your cake or put in in the fridge until you need it for something else. (It only lasts about 24 hours in the fridge)
